I’m confused about how to personalize your forum avatar. How does this work and why/how is Index Junkie involved?

I’m confused about how to personalize your forum avatar. How does this work and why/how is Index Junkie involved?

Index Junkie is for hosting images but that isn’t necessary for changing your forum pic from the big G.

The big G comes from http://en.gravatar.com which supplies a “Globally Recognized Avatar” linked to your e-mail address. All you need to do is go there, setup a free account, upload a pic from your pc and associate it with the e-mail address you post to your forum with.
