couple of questions about the adico

Hi

I have a couple of questions about the adicon plugin, which I’m delighted to see you have taken on development of !

I want to use it in a slightly different way, I’m using it on a fundraising website and will be selling slots for that reason, which technically I suppose is the same as selling advertising but it does throw up a couple of questions for me.

1. Is it possible to change the size of the icons for sale? I want to make them slightly bigger and actually embed them into the centre of a wordpress page or post rather than the sidebar

also I’m not quite sure how to set up the paypal end of it? do I just create a “buy now” button in add it to the upload form?

also ! what format do the uploaded images need to be in? can I amend it so that they can be gif or jpg? tks

ok I think I’ve managed to figure out some of my questions ! size of image.. but not format of image and also not payment yet?

Images can be in any popular image format.

With the payments yes you will need to add a payment button to your upload form page.

ok many thanks.. just one more !

When I try to add an image through the form I’m getting a “something went wrong” I was originally getting a worse error about failed to open stream etc..but once I made sure that the uploaded graphic was the same size as the one I had in the form that error disappeared and I just have a “something went wrong” sorry not much info ! but maybe there’s something basic I need to change in the files when I change the image size? I didn’t change anything in the code.. just the images themselves in the folder. or maybe it’s something completely different?

also sorry while I’m at it ! is there a way to put a default logo/image for those who don’t have one? because in the setup I’m using not everyone might have a logo? so if I can have something else appear instead..

Sorry but for right now the only way a default will appear is if the ad space is empty. I will work on your idea for the next release. Do you have a live site i may go to and see if the upload works for me?

thanks.. yes you can try it.. it’s only in a very test stage at the moment so don’t worry about layout etc.. !

I tried uploading 2 images to your site which failed. I then went to my test site ans tried with the same images and it seems to work fine. Are you sure you did not change any code?

I only changed text.. as in the text that shows when you hover over the button.. but I’ve just uploaded a fresh version (apart from the img file) with no changes..

also I changed the name of the plugin folder because it unzips as adicon-server-16×16 and if you upload it as that you get a different error when uploading the image because it’s looking for the php file in a folder called adicon not adicon-server-16×16 – do you think that might be causing a problem somewhere else?

btw you’re listings did go to the “approval” list but no images with them.. I approved them and you can see how it appeared
